Thanksgiving week 11- 24- 2025

Gobble, gobble, gobble…

She walked carefully. Her shoes were on her feet as she moved among the thistle leaves. The horn shouted its stiff, annoying, and overwhelming note. All she wanted was quiet time. There was a treat to this sound of the early morning hours of waking up. Flying geese hushed overhead. The mood of new beginnings played its notes for the world to hear. And then, the rooster crows, letting the household know the time to wake up to start chores. It was early morning. The wee hours, early in the morning when the sound of chirping birds would fit into your peaceful atmosphere. That first sip of your creamy coffee warming your body from the chill of an autumn day. On her walk across the back yard, she reached the old tree there by the lake. There was a hollow space in the trunk. Her back could fit comfortably in it. She sat down with her worn family Bible to read the morning devotion. This was her morning quiet time. In the front the yard she could see her kids running around the yard. Her boy grinned when his grandma stepped out of the car with a plate full of cookies. He was blushing when he stole one out of the plate. She knew in that moment that her Thanksgiving holiday would be filled with good times and great memories.

…Best wishes for a pleasant holiday with your family and friends or a quiet time alone. Either are great. Prayers for all.

Much love,

Heidi🧡💛🤎
