This is where the story begins,
Lauren anxiously says, “Do you know what is at stake here?”
“What do you mean?” Crystal says, with eyes wide open in shock.
“I mean, you would lose your security deposit,” Lauren says.
Lauren plops on the orange sofa her dad brought on the day they moved into the off-campus apartment.
Crystal folds her arms in defense while saying, “I just…I can’t pour into an empty cup anymore”.
“My mind, my sanity, is at stake,” Crystal sobs.

As both Lauren and Crystal were tuned in to I Love Lucy reruns, their other roommate entered the apartment.
While hanging her keys on a peg by the door, Susanna noticed the tension between the two girls.
Once the two girls explained their dilemma with the apartment, Susanna began to think of solutions.
Susanna says, “Crystal should consider finishing this Spring semester.”
“Lauren, we can get a new roommate for the summer.”
“Then, if Crystal wants, she can come back to the extra room we have downstairs.”
