There, I was in the attic of my childhood home. A lot had happened since the last time I visited the attic of my parents’ house. Here, I was in this attic for one last time to finish the clean-up, and I saw it, the rocking chair handed down from generations before me. My father, his father, and grandfather were rocked to sleep with their moms, singing a soothing tune.
After my father had passed away. I was planning to sell the house in Connecticut and move to Maine with my mom. We needed a change. But first was this rocking chair before me in the attic. Maybe this was one change I wasn’t ready to make. So I called the movers that were downstairs to come up to the attic and get this chair. I would take this chair to Maine with me for memory sake to treasure forever.
