Thanks to our host of Monday #Wordle, Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie…#MLMM
We get to create what we want out of all or some of these words:
front,
thrum,
mix,
echo,
memory,
fear,
think,
hold,
mass,
never,
ready,
late.
She stood at the front of the alter… Waiting. Numbness, that’s how her body had become accustomed to feeling. She knew she would lose a part of herself soon….
With each pinch of the needle, her voice would thrum to the mix of the sound of the drill. The pain, was intense. She tasted the metallic medicine. Her mind echoed, telling her, I still feel the sharpness piercing my skin instead of just pressure. The memory of past instances overtook her mind. Or was she dreaming? How was she here? The fear that she was feeling tensed her body into what felt like a cold stone. What would those around her think? Would she be shunned if she lost control? Her breath remained steady. In and Out breathing. She had to keep calm. No excuses. That feeling of being in control of her emotions was fleeting. She would lose control if she didn’t have a hold of every part of her body. This feeling, her loss of control, seemed overwhelmingly possible. The anticipation. She took her thoughts captive. The mass of everything about that moment mattered. It took up space. She was never ready, for this, but this time was different. Earnestly, she was hoping she wouldn’t be too late. And then it happened. Her body released the foreign, alien like emotion. It felt like a part of her was gone. It was safe in her mind now. Freedom overtaking her.
Until Next Time,
Heidi💜
