Fandango’s Story Starter #185
(For the first time in his life, Dennis felt powerful)
Dennis never liked to be put on the spot. He preferred a quiet life. So when the head boss asked him to speak in front of the whole staff, how in the world would he do this? He was devastated. Everything surrounding him seemed like a tremendous task. Until that day. For the first time in his life, Dennis felt powerful.
On a particular cold night in January, as Dennis was drifting off to sleep, he heard a loud crash outside. When he got up to investigate, he was amazed at what he saw. In his back yard, there was this glow around an old maple tree so bright that the whole backyard was illuminated. Dennis thought that maybe he left the light on by his door. If he did, he knew it wasn’t bright enough to light the tree. So what was lighting the tree? He got dressed in layers to prepare himself from the weather, even put on his snowboots to head outside. He stepped on the porch to find that the bright light was a tiny drone with a note attached. He wrinkled his eyebrows in confusion when he walked over to the light to get the note. What that note said was the answer to calming his nerves about speaking in front of the staff. The note had all the key points on the subject he was asked to speak on. Once he touched the note, a strength came over him that gave him so much confidence that he wasn’t scared anymore. From that point on, Dennis was able to do things he was never able to do before He found the answer to his problem.
