Three Things Challenge #M939
Sarah was in it for her grandmother’s well-being. No matter how much money or time she invested. She was determined to put into the house all of her effort. This was important. The young eighteen-year-old had a great job that would more than support the two of them as they navigated life. Her grandmother was still in good health. That would make her well enough to take care of her meals or bathroom needs. She was also able to handle her medicine along with the time of day she was to take her meds without help. So when the opportunity came up, Sarah and her grandmother moved from their apartment and in the house of one of her childhood friends who recently decided to move across the state. This friend was offered a job with a prestigious vet clinic that was set up in upstate New York. The only drawback was her house that was attached to the vet clinic that she owned herself. So how was she going to move? How could she leave the patients she treated here? Luckily, I worked for her as a vet tech who had taken classes to become a vet myself. This position would only be temporary and as long as the new area needed a vet facility and an extra vet to take care of its animals. A few weeks ago, the area suffered a huge blow to its economy at the hands of Mother Nature. The pet clinic there lost its building but was given an old building that was once a pharmacy. Because of the loss of lives, many pets were without their humans but still needed care. Me and my friend went ahead with our plan of me running the vet clinic here while she helped in New York. On a rainy day, I cleaned the muck my patients brought in when they had their appointments. I sat there during a break between patients and listened to my grandmother laugh at her sitcoms. I could picture her belly laughing as it would rise and fall with mirth. It’s the simple things in life that fill us with so much joy. I would always cherish these days.
Until Next Time,
Heidi💜
