Sunday Poser # 248- A child’s first lesson
This is the question we are asked today for Sunday Poser hosted by Sadje:
“This week my question is; What should be the first thing a child be taught? This question is asked from a societal point of view. Any child, not necessarily yours needs to be taught a few basic things before they are let loose in the world.“
This is a good question to me. Each parent should think of this before having children. They should also consider it while raising them or as they grow up. Let me start with a list of things I believe children should be taught. I will follow that list with another list of things children should not be taught.
Children should be taught:
- gratitude
- self-respect
- respecting others
- acceptance of other children that have special needs or disabilities
- helping those in need
- they should not be taught to bully.
- They should not be taught that it’s okay to make fun of others.
- They should not be taught to talk in obnoxious speech
- they should not be taught how to be selfish
- They should not be taught how to treat their spouse, children, or coworkers with disrespect.
