It’s time for my weekly Story Starter prompt. Here’s how it works. Every Tuesday morning (my time), I’m going to give you a “teaser” sentence or sentence fragment and your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build a story (prose or poetry) around that sentence/fragment. It doesn’t have to be the first […]
Fandango’s Story Starter #198
Hi! My name is Mia. I am Sharon’s bestie. I own the hotel where Sharon works as a housekeeper. Because I am her bestie, we spend so much time talking during work breaks. It was clear to me that Sharon had a lot to juggle. So, I would listen to her vent. I had compassion towards her situation with Arther. The two of them shared a child. Their baby girl’s name was Whitley, and she was the most gorgeous creation I have ever seen. However, Whitley was sickly, so her care was strenuous. Sharon nor Arther wished to give the other full control of her care. Mainly because they were about as opposite as day and night.
In one of our chats, we discussed how Arther was just plain obnoxious. He treated her like she was a twelve year old boy who, though farts and burps and anything inappropriate, was something she wanted to talk about. Sharon reluctantly realized that the only way to salvage her relationship with Arthur would be to remind herself of the reason she felt drawn to him. Especially those times she felt bitter towards him. Bitter of his obnoxious existence in her life. Still, he was Whitley’s father. How could she rob him of quality time with his daughter by completely cutting him out of the picture.
Until Next Time,
Heidi💜
