FOWC With Fandango — Depend

Why do you worry that you can’t depend on your biological father for any kind of moral or emotional support? He looked her in the eyes and said,” Suzanne, I won’t leave you alone in this. Besides true friends stay. They stay till the end.” She looked past their table and out to the mountains in the distance. There was a lone eagle soaring in the sky that reminded her of freedom. In that moment, her body shook with chills while her eyes misted with tears. It was almost like the temperature dropped in a matter of seconds. Calvin grabbed her hands in his, then looked over at Tabatha. Tab was Suzanne’s sister in law but she felt more like a sister the longer they knew each other. Her brother, Calvin, was always protective of Suzanne. This time was no different. Calvin told Suzanne he would protect her always. After all, he was her older brother who was there from the beginning. He would be the one to stand in the gaps that her father left. For some reason or another, her father would seem to come up with an excuse lately when he made plans with his grown kids. This really bothered Suzanne, but her father’s lack of presence in their life since he remarried and had small children didn’t seem to phase Calvin. Tabatha would also tell Suzanne that because her father was non-existent at times, it didn’t mean his grown kids were any less worthy of love, respect, and his time. She would also say that one day he would regret this. I could not help but feel lonely that it would take any time for him to show up. However, this time was different .I turned my head to look at the street before us, and there was my dad pulling up to meet the three of us for lunch.
