Three Things Challenge #M952

ZOOM
ZERO
ZITHER

All she wanted to do was distract herself for a bit. The responsibility she felt was overwhelming. Cathy has zero to no tolerance for deadlines. When thinking about her new job, her various duties made her sick to her stomach.”I don’t know. Deadlines make me nervous for some reason. That and expected obligations. The ones that have to be done in spite of everything.”she said as she plopped in her office chair. Henry zoomed by her office door. With a confused look on her face, Cathy rushed out of her office and into the one across the hall that was Henry’s. “What in the world? ,” Cathy said. Henry turned around as if startled. “How long have you been here?,” he said. “Henry?, it’s three o’ clock in the afternoon. Why wouldn’t I be at the office?” Cathy, the young woman who had just started her new job after college, was surprised when her co- worker pulled a zither out of the trunk in his office. Henry began explaining how each new employee was to pick out an instrument. The instrument of their choice would be played in the office band. His choice was a saxophone. Tom in finance used the zither that Henry rushed to grab in his office. Practice was after five, and Henry was concerned about the time he had to prepare for it. Tom called thirty minutes ago to tell Henry he was out of town. He was on a business call and asked Henry to bring his instrunent to practice. So now Cathy thought, not only do I have deadlines to meet but now I have to play an instrunent in an office band? She sighed and rolled her eyes while she turned to walk out of the door. She returned to her office to plop down in her chair again. Cathy groaned and laid her head in the cup of her palms. “GOOD GRIEF, “she said.

Until Next Time,

Heidi💜
