When I first read this word, I thought it was “personally”. So, the next thing I thought was, ” I won’t take things personally because I do. I take things personally.” Life is crazy that way, when you take things personally. Everything becomes an obligation for you. You worry about others’ needs ahead of your needs. At some point, you have to decide when you are going past that boundary. I realize that the Golden Rule says we should do unto others what we would do to ourselves. Note that the wrong people can take advantage of that. So, we need to use discernment in all things. Which is something I usually learn after the fact.
