What do you see # 268- 23 December, 2024

I couldn’t believe I was letting my young daughter board a train. Much less one that was going to Scotland for three months. Hey, this is me, Sophie Collins. I am a native Scottish girl who hasn’t seen my family for over 5 years. Yes, this is my daughter Emily Grayson. She is the best thing out of my marriage with the one and only Cameron Grayson. He would be the only grandson of the late Benson Grayson. We all know Benson Grayson. He owned the chemical plant that was established in Scotland 5 years ago. I met Cameron when I was walking home one day from school. My eyes laid on the most beautiful face I had seen my whole 17 years. Not only was he so handsome but he was also courteous. A trait I hadn’t seen in the boys my age. Obviously, it didn’t take me long before I was smitten with a guy who was much older than me. Still, Cameron was so convincing of his undying love for me. When he proposed marriage, my immediate response was YES! of course. My family was equally impressed with his kindness. They thought I would be making a wrong choice if I had said no. What me and my family were unaware of was that he was and always will be a manipulative liar. We were jaded as far as his intentions were when he proposed to me. What seemed like the perfect fairy tale took a dark turn. It was really a cover-up for a more selfish wish. Cameron would not inherit his late granddaddy’s empire. The will stated this clearly. Cameron had to marry and have an heir of his own. The young businessman realized he must find a wife. Fast. Trust me, finding a beautiful woman for Cameron was not a hard task. The guy had women. Lots of women. That was the problem. His “women” knew this. Although money would be nice to have, the security of being Cameron Grayson’s wife would not be worth his manipulation. So, he had trouble when it came to the “committed” relationship issue. Here is where I came into the picture. I was a young girl of seventeen. I didn’t know his past or current behavior. I would be a perfect target for the older lad. Before his grandfather’s death the two came up with a plan to extend their horizons. Scotland being an ideal place for a plant extension brought Cameron to my neighborhood. I met the guy while walking home from school. I had no idea he would bring so much turmoil into my life. Cameron would also be the father of my child. Here I stood with tears in my eyes. My baby boarded a train. It would eventually lead to an airport to take her to Scotland. Emily would meet her grandparents for the first time. I would be alone with Cameron living in our mansion. I would also be lonely as I maneuvered through the next three months without my daughter by my side. This adjustment would be a good thing for her in spite of the long distance of our separation. She would learn the Scottish way of living. Of course, I had hired her nanny to go with her on her travels so she wouldn’t be alone. Sarah, her nanny also held a secret for me. A secret only her and I knew.
Until Next Time,
Heidi💜
